In this rapidly changing, technology-driven world, security is a big factor to your business' success.

You can now solve key challenges with robots that supplement human security officers, while also providing greater security capabilities that preserve and improve company revenues.

A.I. is building momentum and is now becoming laced into everything from customer support and data analytics to risk management and security.

Technology that's worthy of a Sci-Fi movie

Over the last two decades, I've been deeply involved in designing large scale security solutions (think: airport protection, infrastructure security applications, Homeland Security solutions and Fortune 1000 facility security deployments). From my experience, it's clear to see that the combination of artificial intelligence and robotics is the next step in enhancing security. AI is building momentum and is now becoming laced into everything from customer support and data analytics to risk management and security. This is driving better capabilities that provide more detailed information and accuracy with every interaction.

The indications for the security profession is clear.

With A.I. and robotics, you have easy access to actionable intelligence when you need it:

  • Respond immediately with automated responses to detected events
  • Get instant notifications of breaches and alerts
  • Use aggregated data to detect events before they occur
  • Pull analytics to get insights on future events and response techniques

What does all of this really boil down to? You can acutely address circumstances that arise in order to mitigate losses and other risks.

Getting security teams on board

Both system integrators and end-users have much to lose if they overlook the advantages of the new enhancements that are improving security capabilities.

Security is still video-centric. An autonomous mobile camera, advanced A.I., and several localization sensors are the basic ingredients for a security robot. With this technology, stronger security advancements with tangible value are now available for everyone that needs to protect a facility.

Criminals are taking advantage of security systems that were "state-of-the-art" 1-2 years ago. As they attempt to breach your system, you need to counteract their abilities with solutions that, quite literally, will stop them in their tracks.

But, let's face it, every organization has budget limitations when investing in new security solutions. Does “we need better security, but at a cost we can afford” sound familiar?

Consider how $1.99 per hour for intelligent patrolling with constant video capture will sound to company leaders and the security team. Many organizations are realizing this is too affordable to pass up and the benefits far outweigh the marginal increase in investment.

CCTVCriminals shy away from security cameras and move along to more vulnerable locations that are easier to breach. Increased deterrence is a huge benefit of adding intelligent robots into the security solution mix.

Security has advanced from the archaic analog CCTV, to the DVR and later the NVR and the release of IP cameras and ultimately the VMS. Every new advancement did one of two things:

  1. It gave the security team the upper hand to stop violence and property loss before it happened. Criminals shy away from security cameras and move along to more vulnerable locations that are easier to breach. Increased deterrence is a huge benefit of adding intelligent robots into the security solution mix.
  2. Improved value and capabilities with cost reductions. Now both end users and security providers are able to see and do more for less. A.I. and robots are achieving these results, providing safer and more proactive measures than ever before.

Consider the benefits of automated and IoT-based security systems. Despite the marginal investment, the ROI from reduced long term costs and fewer incidents is substantial enough to make it a worthy venture.
